Does the Bible really say that slavery is ok?

It doesn't. The Bible openly condemns slavery and injustice of all kinds. The challenge concerns translation. In both the Greek and Hebrew the words slave and servant are interchangeable and most translators unfortunately have chosen the word slave in almost every instance.
