If you slammed it while the hard drive was reading or writing you could have caused the heads to crash. The data may not be recoverable without professional (and expensive) help. If the version of SpinRite you have allows you to boot to the CD and then access the drive to fix it, give it a shot. If it only works after loading under Windows you are SOL.
