Useless fat pidgeons congregating on my lawn and fig tree, need help?

There are a whole lot of them. Every day they come to eat my plums and figs. Its getting out of hand, I'm so raeg i could just chop down everything, that way they won't get to eat it either. So, how can I get rid of all those pests without investing on unsightly nets for the entire tree?
