Am I overreacting? Girl wants to meet in person through Internet?

For the past few months I have frequented a message board. On there one girl in particular has made comments on my posts for the past few months. Well, coincidentally I have now moved to the State she lives in to be with my husband. She lives a few hours away and we have never had a conversation OUTSIDE of the message board. She started saying things about wanting to see me the weekend I flew in, or just recommending that I come with her to places. I wasn’t comfortable with the idea as I was kind of concerned with what seems like her desperation in wanting to seek my companionship in person. She has never spoken to me over the phone, for all she knows I’m a man! The other day she requested that I come to her house, she would pick me up. No matter what I said she kept persisting that I do and that it wouldn’t be any trouble at all for her to come and get me. I am just wondering if it is just a friendly gesture or if I have a right to be concerned?
