Is it okay to write two stories at the same time?

I have two completely different novels that I'm working on at the same time. When I'm stuck for ideas on one, I work on the other. I thought it was a good idea to help me with my creativity, but maybe it's just me not being serious about my writing. So, to restate but also rephrase my question a bit, is that a dumb idea?
